How's your week? Mine's been crazy busy. I feel like I'm drunk from lack of sleep. I hope all of you are doing well!
I've seen some people asking for the names of the songs. They appear on screen during the intro of the song for about 1-2 seconds. It goes fast but it's there. The song playing in the background of Second Clue scene is Kim Bumsoo's I Miss You (or you might know it as Bogoshipda).
What's up with ICSYV guesting every single singer I love? Jessi is awesome and I love her disposition. She actually inspired me a lot in this episode. The skilled ones are so good and the tone-deaf ones are hella funny. Enjoy!
Keep note: I will be really busy at work next week and I'm going away on the week after that. I might be able to release the Yoon Sang episode but episode 8 will definitely be late. Also, I'm only subbing Season 3 right now. It's just not humanly possible to sub all three seasons at the same time.

Hello! So I took a day off from subbing and went hiking with my friends. 18km later, here I am almost bedridden at home. My whole body freaking hurts! It was fun but it really did hurt. Good thing my fingers can still move and sub this episode.
Ahhhhh this show is killing me! So many good singers who deserve a chance to shine. The tone-deaf ones are also awesome people. The person who came up with this show deserves more than a pat on the back.
Joonyoung was hella adorable here. I've always liked him in variety but never really followed his promotions as a singer. Since this episode, I've been playing his songs nonstop.

Translation notes:
- You must be wondering about Gamu Stephanie. Gamu means dancing and singing. Since she also dances ballet, they gave her that nickname. Stephanie (the one in the panelist) was known as Cheonmu Stephanie as well. They called Jang Doyeon as Eumjugamu, drunk singing and dancing.
- Leeteuk mentioned Yesung as a Mr. K candidate because his real name was Kim Jongwoon. He recently changed his name to Kim Jonghoon. I don't know why Leeteuk insisted on the Jongwoon. lol. I guess he forgot.
- The finger that hurts is Kangin. His real name is Kim Youngwoon.

It's getting harder every week to juggle between work, subbing ICSYV. subbing other stuff, watching dramas, and managing the little social life I have. I will keep subbing but my speed might deteriorate in the upcoming weeks. I hope you'll be patient.^^
I've heard about Kim Yoon Ah and Jaurim but I didn't realize until now that she sang one OST from drama Signal! She's the one who sang Road. Eeeep! I love that song so much!
Regarding Mister Bong's nickname "From Cowboys to Sistar", the Korean nickname is 소몰이, literally 'herding cows'. SG Wannabe is known for their Cow Herding singing style. It's basically the 'wo, wo, wo' in a song but it sounds like herding cows, hence the name. I thought it was awkward to use 'Cow Herding' so I just wrote it as 'Cowboys'. It just meant 'From SG Wannabe to Sistar', suggesting that he worked with them.
Also, I don't think this is a spoiler but Jung Joonyoung will be the guest for the next episode. Does he have an active fansubbing team? I just don't want to overlap with anyone. That would just be wasting each other's precious time. I was kinda hoping for a week off.

So, as you all know by now, they talk a lot in ICSYV. First of all, there are a lot of panelists, three hosts, and then the guests. Usually, they like talking all at the same time so it's really hard to translate everything that they're saying. To help you a little bit with this, I'll have the most commonly used words posted here.
They debate on whether a contestant is a skilled vocalist or is tone-deaf.
실력자 (shil-yeok-ja) - literally "person with skills", translates to "skilled vocalist" for this show
can also mean: capable
음치 (eum-chi) - translates to "tone-deaf"
Other than those two words, they also use other words to describe the contestants.
잘하다 (jal-ha-da) - translates to "is good"
This one has many forms depending on the tense. You might here them say:
잘해 (jal-hae) - the present tense
잘할거야 (jal-hal-keo-ya), 잘할것같아 (jal-hal-keot-gat-ta) - future tense, "He will be good" or "I think he'll do well."
잘하잖아 (jal-ha-ja-na) - "See? He's good!
On the contrary, if they think a contestant is tone-deaf, they might say
못하다 (mot-ha-da) - translates to "can't" or just "not good"
Like 잘하다, it has different forms as well:
못해 (mot-hae) - the present tense
못할거야 (mot-hal-keo-ya), 못할것같아 (mot-hal-keot-gat-ta) - future tense, "He will be bad" or "I think he won't be good."
못하잖아 (mot-ha-ja-na) - "See? He's bad!"
Another word to know is
노래 (no-rae) - translates to "song"
It can be put in front of 잘하다 or 못하다 to say that someone is "good at singing" or "bad at singing"
You might hear them say:
노래 잘해 (no-rae jal-hae) - "He's good at singing" or "He's a good singer"
노래 못해 (no-rae mot-hae) - "He's bad at singing" or "He's not a good singer."
I hope this will help you a bit in understanding the program and maybe learn a little Korean. I'll add more some other day.

Hi, everyone! I was busy last week with work and other stuff so I'm so happy to release this today. The episode was so much fun (well, when was it not?)! My only complain is that there are three or four people talking at the same time. It's just not possible to translate them all. Sorry. ;A;
I had problems with encoding and I'm a newbie at this so I can't figure out what went wrong. I basically tried everything but the second part's audio is just not in sync. I'll have download links for the raw cut of part 2 and the soft subs for it. You can play it in VLC player and just drag the soft subs to it. Adjust the audio delay to 150 ms or 200 ms. You can do this by pressing K on your keyboard three times. Or try to adjust it by pressing K or J.
There are some problems but I hope you'll enjoy the episode. :)

Also, for reference, KAIST is Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology. It's a public research university so people assume that students from KAIST are super smart. Oh Hyunmin, who was in The Genius Season 3 and 4, is from KAIST.
